Breeders The Pumi is a very rare breed in the US, with about 1 to 3 litters born per year. If you are interested in a puppy, you may have to wait some time. If you have a preference for a particular color or sex, you will have to wait even longer. The Pumi is a very healthy breed, but be sure to ask the breeder if the parents of the puppy have been x-rayed and cleared for hip dysplasia by OFA and eye problems by a veterinary opthamologist. There are breeders in the USA who are breeding non-recognized colors. The members of this club do not support the breeding of colors that are not recognized by the FCI standard of excellence for the breed. The following people are breeders who belong to this club.
